Calicos in several different weights, muslin in white and cream, downproof cotton for feather cushions, white cotton lawn, extra wide cotton sheeting in black and white, brushed cotton winceyette...........   CHIFFONS, GEORGETTES & CREPE DE CHINES A beautiful selection of chiffons, georgettes and crepe de chines in fantastic prints for all ages and tastes. These all have good drape so are ideal for blouses, skirts, sarongs and summer dresses. They can be used for everyday or special occasions like weddings or holidays.   CHILDREN & NURSERY Fabrics suitable for babies and children. Both for clothing or soft furnishings in bedrooms. These can all be used for adults or children's clothes or for upholstery projects.   COSTUME - RETRO & PERIOD A selection of fabrics that lend themselves to period costumes. From delicate cotton prints for the Jane Austen era to bold abstracts for a 60s look. Colours are constantly changing - if you cannot find what you are looking for here - ring for details of the current range.   KNITS Too afraid to use knitted fabrics? Don't be - all you need is a pattern designed for knitted fabrics and a machine that does a zigzag stitch. You will soon find you can make garments much more quickly, easily and with greater fitting success than with wovens. Knits don't fray, usually don't need darts and drape to fit beautifully! Try a double needle for hems too.   LACES, NETS & TULLES For a beautiful range of laces, nets and tulles in a variety of colours, perfect for wedding, evening or even fancy dress costumes.   LEATHERETTE & PVC Ideal for upholstery, soft furnishings, garments and fancy dress, these soft leatherettes and PVCs have a fabric backing and can be stitched with a machine or by hand.   LINEN & LINEN MIXES Pure linens and linen mixed with cotton or rayon to reduce creasing but will still keep you cool in summer. Click here for some of our basic anti-static linings at just £2.95mtr. We usually stock around 30 different colours. Satin linings are £3.75mtr some in shot colours. We can also obtain 'brem silk' type breatheable viscose linings in a multitude of colours at £8.95mtr - just send us a sample of the fabric you are trying to match and the weight required.   PATCHWORK COTTONS Any 100% cotton fabrics can be used for patchwork but these lend themselves in print and weight to traditional patchwork projects. They can also be used for any garments too!   POLYESTER & POLYVISCOSE SUITINGS Light to medium weight fabrics for skirts, trousers, jackets, suits etc. These range from polyester or polyester/viscose or mixtures of natural and synthetic fibres that give both comfort whilst wearing and crease resistance.   SATINS & TAFFETAS Satins and taffetas come in a enormous range of weights and colours. It is often difficult to depict colours accurately online and we always stock many more than shown here, so please give us a ring on 01225 768833 with your requirements and we will be happy to send you some samples.   SEASONAL This section contains fabrics mainly for christmas and halloween and other seasonal events throughout the year.   SILK FIBRE FABRICS We always stock ivory silk habotai (painting silk), natural silk organza ideal for embroidery projects and a range of dupions. If you are able to come to the shop you can see our silk books which contain samples of dupions, habotais, crepe backed satin, duchess satin, crepes, chiffons and more in many colours.   SOFT FURNISHINGS We have an increasing range of fabrics suitable for soft furnishing projects, for example soft leatherette PVC or a suedette in a range of colours for a modern look, or some contemporary flower prints from Amy Butler. Revamp dining chairs with a new cover or make a few cushions in some stunning fabrics. We have luxury furs and velboas for cushions and throws.   SPARKLIES & SHEERS All kinds of organzas, glittery and metallic fabrics for evening wear, fancy dress, drapes, display and many more uses.   VELVETS & VELOURS All velvet type fabrics with a pile. Some are woven others stretchy on a jersey backing. Suitable for evening and daywear or fancy dress, theatrical productions, carnivals and costumes.   WOOLLENS & WOOL MIXES A range of pure wool fabrics and wool mixtures for a variety of uses. From thick coat weights to fine wool crepes. Fabrics for tailoring projects require a high proportion of wool. These fabrics we recommend to be dry cleaned. Fabrics with a low wool content can usually be hand washed or in a cool gentle cycle.
